Where to watch New Year's fireworks in the UAE
2024 has been a pretty tough year for a lot of people, so it’s time to celebrate the New Year. But where do you go to get the best views of the fabulous fireworks displays on offer in the UAE? At Al-Futtaim MOOV, we’re all about letting our hair down, kicking back, and partying into the small hours of 2023, so here are our favourite places to gaze in awe as pyrotechnic wizards light up the night sky.
Burj Khalifa
It’s the tallest building in the world so naturally, it’s the perfect location for the biggest firework show in the UAE. If you’re in Dubai, you’ll be turning your face towards the Burj at midnight to see just how spectacular their laser and fireworks show will be. And our guess? It’ll be off-the-scale amazing! For a double-whammy of awesome, head to Dubai Mall to take in the Dubai Fountain’s light and water extravaganza beforehand and then? Well, simply look up, because you won’t be able to miss the show.
Al Seef
Dubai’s heritage district always puts on an amazing firework display every New Year, and this year is going to be no different. Giving you a glimpse into the region’s past as well as celebrating its future, Al Seef is a wonderfully relaxed place to be on New Year’s Eve. Plenty of gourmet food vendors will also be there to keep the hunger pangs at bay, so why not wander down and spend New Year’s eve at Al Seef? You’ll find parking away from the city centre will also be a little easier to find, but it’s still worth getting there early to secure a spot.
Kite Beach
This has to be one of the most family-friendly places to watch all of Dubai’s fireworks displays at once. With loads of space, you won’t feel crowded (which will be a bit easier to cope with if you have the little ones with you). Why not pop a picnic into the boot of your MOOV subscription car, head to the beach and see the New Year in with the gentle sound of the ocean at your back?
Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi
With the colours of the UAE flag emblazoned across the sky, the fireworks show at Al Maryah Island has to be seen to be believed. Our top tip: book a spot in one of the waterfront restaurants for a relaxed meal and a show. Parking will be in high demand, so get there early.
Burj Al Arab
With its graceful dhow sail design, the Burj Al Arab is a gorgeous backdrop for New Year’s eve fireworks in Dubai. It always puts on an amazing show and while most people will be gazing in awe at the Burj Khalifa’s record-breaking display, the Burj Al Arab guarantees a spectacular event and a less crowded spot in which to enjoy the city’s fireworks.
Across the UAE, every city, town and village will have their own wonderful displays. At MOOV by Al-Futtaim, we have the perfect selection of subscription cars for you to get out and enjoy the New Year festivities to the full. Book a subscription for a nippy little Toyota Yaris Hatchback or a family-friendly Toyota RAV-4, fill the boot with the biggest picnic ever, and get out there to welcome in 2023 in real style.
