What's happening in the UAE? Our winter roundup

October, November and December are full of amazing events here in the UAE. If you’re eagerly planning some days out with the kids, family-friendly events, or something a little highbrow, at MOOV we’ve got the wheels to get you there.

Our car subscription deals mean you can hire a city run-around for the commute, but if you’re planning a bigger trip to see a show in Abu Dhabi, the music and lights extravaganza of the Dubai fountains, or a trip to Sharjah, we’ve got sedans, crossovers, and SUVs galore for you to choose from.

So that's the car sorted with MOOV. Where shall we go?

October

The dynamic city is ablaze with events in the last quarter of 2022. Global Village Season Seven kicks off at the end of October, giving visitors a chance to sample food from around the world and be entertained and enthralled by performances, dancing and music.

The grand opening of Expo City is eagerly awaited but still unconfirmed as we go to press. It's worth watching out for announcements as this events arena and unique complex will be a focal point for life in the UAE in the future.

November

Abu Dhabi Art runs from the 16th – 20th of November and is a celebration of art and culture from around the UAE and beyond. From exhibitions to artist installations, it's one of the cultural highlights of the year.

For sports fans, November brings the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the perfect sporting event for petrolheads of all ages. The new Yas Marina Circuit is bound to throw up plenty of thrills and probably a few spills too. A sensational weekend for car lovers from the 17th to the 20th of November.

Also in Abu Dhabi is the family event of the season, with the new Lion King musical taking to the stage at the Etihad Arena. This Disney classic is bound to be a hit with the kids (and mums and dads too) and is in town for a four-week run from November 18th through to December 10th.

The DP World Tour Championship takes to the greens in Dubai from November 17th to 20th. This golfing championship sees some of the world’s best players chip and putt their way around the Earth Course, Jumeirah Golf Estates. And the best bit? Entry tickets for spectators are free!

For the dynamic businesswomen of the UAE, it’s off to Sharjah in November for the SBWC Majlisna in Khorfakkan winter festival. Running from the 17th to the 20th of November at Khorfakkan Beach, this food festival is designed to showcase some of the most enterprising women in the industry and their products. Make sure there's plenty of room in your luggage for all those delicious treats!

December

The family-friendly Dawahi Festival kicks off in Sharjah from the 18th to the 30th of December and is designed to strengthen the bonds between families and communities through inclusive entertainment and arts.

In Abu Dhabi, the wonderfully warm and friendly Mother of the Nation Festival takes place on the Corniche, with live art installations, themed zones and lots of delicious food on offer.

The Middle East’s largest sports festival takes place in Dubai with the Emirates Airline Dubai 7’s and runs from the 1st to the 4th of December. Tickets are going fast, so if you're a rugby fan, book now to avoid disappointment.

And finally…

Of course, we couldn't forget the UAE National Day, which falls on a Friday this year, so it's a long weekend of fun for everyone. Keep a lookout for updates in your local area, and make sure you've sorted your car subscription out with MOOV in plenty of time to get you to those fireworks parties and celebrations.
